Deep Water by Dr. Dre

Music as cinema. The whole “Compton” album is meant to accompany the release of Straight Out Of Compton, and by listening to every song on this masterpiece over and over, I’ve found that it was inspired and intentionally designed to take the listener to the city it was named after. Water, seagulls, wind, the voice of someone drowing: these are all the things that are artfully blended in with drums, a melodic baseline, and an arrangement of sound of effects that leaves you feeling submerged. I’d rather much be drowning in music than in water, and thanks to Dr Dre., now we know what it sounds like.

  1. My name is Stephen, I’m editor in chief of swurvradio.com – we’re looking for bloggers. We’re basically an entertainment publication, for now the gig is unpaid, but we can help you build a resume and exposure, as well as alternative opportunities to make a little $ from the site. I saw your wordpress blog and was curious if this was something you’d be interested in. Check the site out, and if you’re interested, you can email me (stephen@swurvradio.com) to discuss it further.
